    A Conceptual Study on E-Commerce and Digital Supply Chain Management

    Today, with globalization, changes are experienced in many subjects. Especially with the developments in information and communication technologies, the digitalization process has become one of the remarkable issues with an increasing momentum. Industry 4.0 and new technological developments have brought important changes in production and consumption approaches. In this context, businesses have started to prefer to use more digital technologies in their products and services, and consumers have started to make their choices by using digital technologies in their purchasing processes. Developing technologies, changing business models and increasing competition in constantly changing business world cause businesses to be more competitive. In this context, managing the supply chain process effectively is among the issues that are becoming increasingly important. Nowadays, the increasing accessibility of consumers to the products and making purchasing decisions among many different options have caused businesses to operate in a more competitive environment. Another important factor is the increase in e-commerce platforms, causing businesses to remain in an intense competitive environment regarding the price, quality and delivery processes of the product to ensure customer satisfaction. Although the improvements in the supply chain are of great importance for businesses competing against time, especially in terms of e-commerce transactions, digitalization has also shown its effect in this area and brought the digital supply chain approach to the fore. In this way with using digital technologies, businesses will have the opportunity to manage the process effectively until their products reach to their consumers.

    Dijitalleşmenin giderek artması ve özellikle bilişim teknolojilerinde yaşanan gelişmeler artık birçok faaliyetin dijital ortamlarda gerçekleşmesine neden olmaya başlamıştır. Geleneksel alışveriş alışkanlıkları yerini her geçen gün farklı inovatif yaklaşımların ortaya çıktığı dijital ortamlara bırakmaya başlamıştır. Günümüzde tüketiciler özellikle dijital teknolojilerin giderek yaygınlaşmasıyla birlikte birçok alternatif içerisinden istedikleri özellikteki ürünü en hızlı şekilde karşılaştırma ve seçme olanağına sahiptirler. Bu durum hem ulusal hem uluslararası işletmeleri daha rekabetçi bir ortamda faaliyet göstermelerine neden olmaktadır. Bu nedenle dijitalleşmenin hem ekonomiye hem de ticarete yansımaları büyük önem arz etmektedir. Özellikle günümüzde yaşanan küresel salgınlar gibi unsurların yaşanması işletmeleri müşterilerine ulaşabilmek için dijital teknolojilerden yaralanmanın gerekliliğini farklı bir boyutta gereksinim duymalarını sağlamıştır.

    The importance of the logistics sector on employment and GDP in Turkey

    Logistics and international trade are together plays an important role in the economy. In order to compete internationally foreign trade and logistics plays an critical role. The country’s geographical and strategic position is the main factor that plays an important role on a country’s logistics sector. For this reason, countries such as Turkey, has the potential to become an important logistics center, due to its advantageous position in trade between different countries and regions. Logistics sector also plays an important role in economic development and employment creation in Turkey. According to the TUIK’s data, the number of people employed in the logistics sector which is associated with transportation, communication and storage services, has increased recently in Turkey. Our aim is to point out the importance of the logistics sector both on employment and on Gross Domestic Product (GDP) which also plays a crucial role to achieve the sustainable economic growth.

    Küreselleşmenin son yıllarda hız kazanmasıyla birlikte uluslararasılaşma ile ilgili birçok çalışma ve araştırma yapıldığı görülmektedir. Bu çalışmaların önemli bir bölümü, işletmeleri uluslararasılaşmaya iten faktörler ya da başka bir ifadeyle, uluslararsılaşma stratejilerinin işletmelere sağladıkları faydalar açısından konuyu ele almaktadır. Dolayısıyla, işletmelerin sürdürülebilirliği için vazgeçilmez bir unsur olan finansal performansla uluslararasılaşma arasındaki ilişkinin yapısı da yoğun olarak araştırılan bir konu olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, meta analiz yöntemiyle, uluslararasılaşmanın finansal performansa etkisinin araştırılması ve bulguların tartışılmasıdır.

    To achieve sustainable growth environmental factors plays an important role. Environmental issues are very important for consumers, companies and also for countries. Companies are trying to achieve new improvements for their products and/or processes to decrease their costs, to differentiate their products or to satisfy consumer needs etc.. Innovation is a critical factor for development. The aim of this research is to make a short literature review and figure out the importance of innovation that focuses environmentally effective developments which is called green innovation. There are various studies in literature about green innovation that concentrates on current and future environmental issues and reducing energy and resource consumption.

    PRIORITIZING INNOVATION FACTORS BY USING ANALYTIC NETWORK PROCESS

    The emergence and development of the fourth industrial revolution affects production systems.This new revolution also has an impact on logistics, which has a direct relationship withproduction. Organizations give importance on innovation, technological change and productdifferentiation to compete with their rivals. Innovativeness creates better understanding ofcustomer needs and wants, catch up their rivals and become more proactive in seeking the marketopportunities for organizations. Therefore, improving logistics services using innovations canhelp improving strong customer relationships, derive barriers to competition, increase customerloyalty, change costs and conduct market activities more effectively. In this context, theobjective of this study is to prioritize the innovation factors in logistics industry using a pairwisecomprehensive method named Analytic Network Process (ANP). This model is proposed todefine a ranking between selected criteria for innovation based decisions. This methodologydemonstrates, which criteria has the most important role in the innovation processes.

Therefore, international trade plays an important role for companies who are seeking new markets and trying to find new opportunities to increase their competitiveness. While presenting the importance of international trade for companies, the other important issue is to analyze its effect on firm's performance. The aim of this research is to figure out the impact of international trade especially on firm's financial performance and which factors can be used to evaluate the financial performance.
