dc.description.abstractKriptokok meninjiti genellikle bağışık sistemi baskılanmış kişilerde, organ nakli yapılanlarda, kanser hastalarında ve edinsel immün yetmezlik sendromu (AIDS) hastalarında sık olup, immünkompetan olgularda nadiren bildirilmektedir. Bu makalede tanısı klinik, beyin-omurilik sıvısı (BOS) incelemeleri ve kraniyal manyetik rezonans görüntüleme (MRG) bulguları ile konulan, öncesinde sağlıklı 72 yaşında erkek olgu sunulmaktadır. Kraniyal MRG incelemesinde genişlemiş ventriküller ile karakterize hidrosefali saptanan hastaya, ventriküler basıncı düşürmeye yönelik olarak BOS drenaj seti uygulanmıştır. Olgu amfoterisin B, flusitozin ve flukonazol ile tedavi edilmiştir.en_US
dc.description.abstractCryptococcal meningitis generally occurs in immunosuppressed patients, organ transplant receivers, in patients with malignancies and in acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). Cryptococcal infection is rare in the immunocompetent. This paper describes a case of cryptococcal meningitis in a previously healthy 72-year-old man. The diagnosis was based on clinical findings, the results of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) analysis, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings. Cranial MRI revealed enlargement in the ventricles and increasing hydrocephalus. A lumbar CSF draining set was installed in order to lower the ventricular pressure. The patient was successfully treated with amphotericin B, flucytosine and fluconazole.en_US
