Özet
İnsanların genetik kodunu çözümlemeyi amaçlayan İnsan Genom Projesi 2003 yılında sonlandırıldı. Genetik haritanın çıkarılmasıyla hastalıkların tedavisinde büyük yol alındı. Tıbbi açıdan kimsenin reddetmediği proje kapsamında elde edilen bilgilerin hangi amaçlarla ve kimler tarafından kullanılacağı konusunda potansiyel riskler, soru işaretleri ve itirazlar var. Genetik haritalarımızdan elde edilen bilginin biyolojik silah olarak kullanılabilme riski en önemli tehlikelerden biri olarak görülüyor. Peki, bundan sonra ne olacak? Bilim insanları araştırmalarını ne yönde sürdürecek?
The Human Genome Project, which was conducted to solve human beings' genetic codes, was finished in 2003. A great success was achieved in the treatment of diseases after the gene map was completely projected. And there are many potential risks, questions, and concerns over the purpose and the users of the information obtained in the Project, which was not rejected by any medical authority. The risk of the information obtained from our gene map being used as a biological weapon seems to be the primary concern right now. So, what will happen now? Towards which direction will the scientists guide their researches?
