Cutis verticis gyrata (CVG) is an unusual condition that typically occurs on the scalp and is characterized by the formation of ridges and furrows. These changes resemble the outer surface of the cerebrum. In this study a case of primary CVG is presented, without association of neurologic or neuropsychiatric diseases, which was successfully treated by using one-stage scalp reduction procedure with the pinwheel flap technique. A 46-year-old woman had first noticed the formation of ridges over the vertex of the scalp 20 years earlier. These ridges and furrows became progressively more pronounced, and a larger area of the scalp became involved.en_US
