Özet
The aim of this study is to determine whether the middle school students' school burnout score averages differ according to gender, class and school type, to examine the relationship between school burnout, education stress and school satisfaction in addition to these to determine whether school stress and school satisfaction have a significant place in explaining school burnout scores. For this purpose, Elementary School Student Burnout Scale for Grades 6 to 8 (ESSBS), Educational Stress Scale for Adolescents (ESSA), and Overall School Satisfaction Scale for Children (OSSSC) have been applied to 298 middle school students. Independent Sample T-test, the Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient and Multiple Linear Regression Analysis have been used as statistical analysis of the study. According to the results of the study, it was seen that educational stress and school satisfaction were strong predictors of school burnout scores and explained about 62% of the variance related to school burnout. In the light of this information, while emphasizing the importance of the mediating variables identified as risk and protective factors in the guidance and psychological counseling services planned for the school burnout that can be developed by the students were discussed and suggestions have been made for further research on this issue. © 2021.
