Özet
I read the artşcle by Guelinckx et al, on anal sphicter reconstruction using the gluteus maximus muscle with great interest. When the morbidity of using the gluteus maximus muscle is taken into consideration, it is evident that the use of gracilis muscle for the same purpose is better in this sense. The authors seem to resolve problem arising from the loss of thigh extension and lessened pelvis stability by using only the lower one-third of the muscle. However, they kept their patients immobilized for 3 weeks.
