Yayın Effect of career days on high school students’ irrational beliefs about career choice and on decision making skills about career(Ozgen Korkmaz, 2021) Kutlu, A.; Bedel, A.The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of career days on 10th grade students' irrational beliefs about career choice and on their career decision-making skills. This research was conducted in two high schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in the 2019-2020 academic year. There are totally 102 students in the experimental and control groups. In the research, a quasi-experimental model with pretest-posttest control group was used. Within the scope of the research, ten-week career days were organized for the students in the experimental group. No career days were organized for the students in the control group. In the study, personal information form, irrational beliefs relating to career choice scale and career decision inventory were used as data collection tools. Frequency, Percentage and Arithmetic Average analysis was used for statistical information on demographic variables; Mann Whitney U test was used for the significance of the pre-test post-test difference scores of the experimental and control groups. As a result of the research it has been observed that career days are effective in reducing the irrational beliefs relating to career choice and career indecisions of the students in the experimental group. The results of this study emphasize the importance of career days on students' irrational beliefs about career choice and career decision making skills. The research findings were discussed and suggestions for future research and applications were developed. © 2021, Ozgen Korkmaz. All rights reserved.Yayın THE ROLE OF EDUCATIONAL STRESS AND SCHOOL SATISFACTION IN EXPLAINING SCHOOL BURNOUT AMONG MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS(T.C. Milli Egitim Bakanligi, 2021) Bedel, A.; Güler, G.The aim of this study is to determine whether the middle school students' school burnout score averages differ according to gender, class and school type, to examine the relationship between school burnout, education stress and school satisfaction in addition to these to determine whether school stress and school satisfaction have a significant place in explaining school burnout scores. For this purpose, Elementary School Student Burnout Scale for Grades 6 to 8 (ESSBS), Educational Stress Scale for Adolescents (ESSA), and Overall School Satisfaction Scale for Children (OSSSC) have been applied to 298 middle school students. Independent Sample T-test, the Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient and Multiple Linear Regression Analysis have been used as statistical analysis of the study. According to the results of the study, it was seen that educational stress and school satisfaction were strong predictors of school burnout scores and explained about 62% of the variance related to school burnout. In the light of this information, while emphasizing the importance of the mediating variables identified as risk and protective factors in the guidance and psychological counseling services planned for the school burnout that can be developed by the students were discussed and suggestions have been made for further research on this issue. © 2021.
