Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin eğitimleriyle ilgili memnuniyet düzeylerinin saptanması / Determination of satisfaction level of nursing students about their education

Amaç: Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin eğitimleri ile ilgili memnuniyet düzeylerini saptamaktır. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı olarak planlanan bu çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak, Türe ve ark. (1998) tarafından ülkemizde geliştirilen, Baykal ve ark (2002) tarafından geçerlik güvenirlik çalışması yapılan, 11 alt boyuttan oluşan “Öğrenci Memnuniyet Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada veriler 930 Nisan 2007 tarihleri arasında toplanmıştır. Çalışmamızda ölçeğin Cronbach alpha katsayısı .98 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Çalışmada evrenin tamamına (N=359) ulaşılması hedeflenmiş ancak toplam 223 öğrenci (%62) ölçeği eksiksiz olarak doldurmuştur. Bulgular: Çalışmada öğrencilerin yaş ortalaması 21,3 olarak saptanmıştır. Öğrencilerin %52'si mesleği istemeden seçtiğini ancak şu anda %76’sı hemşireliği sevdiğini ifade etmiştir. Katılımcıların, "Öğrenci Memnuniyet Ölçeği"nden aldıkları toplam puan ortalaması 202 olup, 2. sınıf hariç, sınıf arttıkça öğrenci memnuniyeti azalmaktadır. Çalışmada 2. sınıfların en yüksek (x=235) memnuniyet düzeyine, 4.sınıfların en düşük (x=164) memnuniyet düzeyine sahip oldukları saptanmıştır. Yapılan istatistiksel analiz sonuçlarına göre ölçeğin bir alt boyutu hariç tüm alt boyutları ile sınıflar arasında istatistiksel olarak ileri derecede anlamlı fark vardır. Sonuç: Öğrencilerin genel memnuniyet düzeyi „orta' olarak değerlendirilebilir. Buna göre ölçekte tanımlanan alt boyutlara ilişkin öğrenci memnuniyetini iyileştirici önlemlerin alınması, özellikle 4. sınıfların memnuniyetinin düşük olmasının nedenlerinin araştırılması önerilmiştir.

Objectives: To determine the satisfaction level of nursing students. Methods: In this descriptive study, data were collected between 9-30 April 2007, with “Student Satisfaction Scale” which was developed by Türe et al. (1998) and the reliability and validity tests of this scale were carried out by Baykal et al. (2002). The Cronbach alpha of the scale was found to be as .98. The sample of the study comprised of all the students (N=359), however 223 students (%62) completed the scale. Results: The mean age of the students was 21,3. In total 52% of all the students stated that they unwillingly chosed nursing, however 76% of them said that currently they love nursing. It was determined that, mean satisfaction score was 202 and except second year students, when the year increased, student satisfaction was decreased. The second year students had the highest satisfaction score (x=235) while forth year lowest (x=164). Statistically significant differences were found between the year of the students and 10 factors defined in the Scale. Conclusion: The level of student satisfaction is medium. It was suggested that, in order to enhance student satisfaction, the dimensions, described in the scale should be improved.
