Özet
Together with globalization in the world, the interaction between people has showed a gradual increase in the internatbnal dimension. Consequently, educatiorıal exchange programs have appeared between countries. Programs such as Erasmus and Mevlana to which Turkey has also participated and which encourage higher education institutions to cooperate with each other. are some of them. Such exchange programs bring forward adaptation of individuals from ditferent cultures to a new culture and their cultural competence. Cultural competence is defined as a competence to be possessed by medical personnel for the purpose of providing a safe and an efficient healthcare service to individuals having a different cultural background. lnternational students, who come from another culture and have to adapt to a new environment, may feel culturally incompetent in various areas throughout their educational processes. lnternational nursing students may remain ıncapable in providing care for individuals in the fields of practice while trying to overcome various adaptation difficulties. lncreasing the cultural competence of international nursing students who face various difficulties could help them provide a standard healthcare service in their community.
