Yayın Analysis of basic concepts knowledge and academic development of children from different age groups(Kamla-Raj Enterprises, 2015) Oktay A.; Dogan H.; Ozcan Z.C.As of the 2012-2013 academic year, the starting age for primary school has been changed to 66 months. The purpose of this research is to analyze whether basic concepts knowledge and academic development show any differences in children starting school at different ages. The group analyzed in this research consisted of 254 first-year students. The Bracken Basic Concept Scale and measuring tools for reading speed, reading comprehension and mathematical problem solving were used. It is observed that children show no significant difference in basic concepts at the beginning of the academic year, that the existing difference is on the concept of numbers, and that aside from the concept of letters there is no meaningful difference evidentat the end of the academic year. Students from the younger age group were able to learn to read. However, differences in the younger age group in reading comprehension and mathematical problem solving were observed. © Kamla-Raj 2015.Yayın Developing a new excitation system for the microwave heating cavities(Department of Chemistry and Technology of Polymers, Cracow University of Technology, 2015) Oktay A.; Akman A.…Yayın Effect of the load ports in industrial microwave ovens(Edinburgh University Press, 2013) Oktay A.; Akman A.In this article, a structure formed by a rectangular applicator is under study. The applicator is partially loaded by a dielectric material in rectangular form. In order to simulate the applicator which is considering it as an element of the tunnel, two load-opening (entry and exit of load) have been cutted on the side walls of the applicator so that the dielectric load fills it and travels from the entry to the exit opening(load ports). The electric field distribution on the load and the reflection coefficient at the port are calculated to obtain effects of the load openings.Yayın Effect of the load-openings on the industrial microwave applicators(Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe, 2009) Oktay A.; Yenikaya S.; Akman A.The time domain finite element method has been used to simulate the electromagnetic field distribution and dissipated power density inside the cavity(applicator) containing partially a dielectric material located transversally between two side-opening (load ports). The field distribution and the power density has been simulated with and without the load-openings(load ports) in order to demostrate its effects on the microwave heating processes.Yayın Yayın Numerical analysis of microwave multimode oven with two lateral apertures(Editions Cepadues, 2011) Oktay A.; Gözkaya B.A.; Akman A.In this article, a structure formed with a rectangular applicator is under study. The applicator is partially loaded by a dielectric material between two apertures (entry and exit load port) on the side walls of the applicator. The applicator is simulated using the finite element method (FEM) in order to find the effects of the apertures (load ports) on the uniformity and the efficiency in multimode microwave oven.
