Burns is the trauma of the skin or other tissue caused mainly by the high temperatures, radiation, radioactivity, electricity, friction or contact with chemicals. Not only does the patient’s health suffer, but also the external appearance on which the mood of man directly depends, the sense of autonomy and his psychological comfort. Treatment of burns and their consequences is a severe physical and moral test for most patients, whether sunbathing, thermal or chemical burning. The importance of the aesthetic component of the treatment is that it determines the quality of the patient’s future life. The aim of our work is to study modern laborantal and instrumental methods for the diagnosis and treatment of burns. Determining the current functional duties of the nurse for the care, treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation of patients with burns. And to show what methods of burn treatment are used in other countries. MATERIALS AND METHODS: On the example of modern research conducted, on the positive results of patients in such countries as Japan (food grade film and vaseline), Russia and Belarus (bandages with nanofibers), Poland (hydrogel dressing: AQUA-GEL) Brazil (skin of Tilapia fish), we compiled our work. The patients mentioned in these studies were from different ethnic races, nationalities, age, and gender. Regardless of the degree of burn, this work summarizes mainly the positive aspects of innovative methods. RESULTS: The analysis showed that the quality of nursing care depends on the strict application of modern medical technologies. Continuous training of nurses for the therapeutic functions of modern dressings is necessary. Today, a number of hydro-active dressings are available for treatment and covering the full range of therapeutic requirements. During wound healing and closing of the skin defect, the bandage performs the important functions: -protection against mechanical impact and external contamination -protects against secondary infections -protects against the drying and loss of bodily fluids -accelerating the formation of granulation tissue. The frequency of changing the bandage depends on the condition of the wound and the specific characteristics of the bandage. Provides enteral and parenteral nutrition. Organization and participation in haemotransfusion. Important is to assists a doctor in wound processing and changing of the dressing.
