Yayın Neglect and violent behavior of caregivers and health professionals(Maltepe Üniversitesi, 2020) El Mawla, Nour AhmadNeglect and abuse is a severe violation of human rights and a global issue. Upon health facility admission, all patients, ’especially aged patients and paediatrics, become prone and inclined to abuse. Understanding the problems perceived as abuse by means of the elderly and pediatric patients and their family members approves us to identify, manage, and forestall neglect, violence and abuse; in particular in health centre settings. The present study aimed to perceive and describe the abuse of hospitalized patients from the point of view of patients if possible, based on different standards and their family members. The current exploratory qualitative study used to be conducted from October 2017 to September 2018 at three different teaching hospitals in Beirut and Mount Lebanon. The target population was elderly patients and paediatrics in special wards across various hospitals and their family members. Based on the purposive sampling method, 28 hospitalized elderly patients, 22 paediatrics patients and 19 family members had been recruited and interviewed. The statistics had been analyzed the usage of the inductive content analysis method in accordance with the manner described by Elo and Kyngas (J Adv Nurs 62:107–15, 2008): Inductive content material analysis is used in cases where there are no previous studies dealing with the phenomenon or when it is fragmented. A deductive method is beneficial if the accepted goal was once to take a look at a preceding principle in a one-of-a-kind scenario or to examine categories at particular time periods. Based on the analysis of the interview data, four predominant classes had been extracted and categorized as Micro-level (Physical, emotional and or psychological abuse),Mesolevel( Professional negligence, ethical issues), Exo-level (unsafe environment), and Macrolevel issues(Complex manner of admission till discharge, Limitations of resources, Financial abuse). Conclusion: Hospitalized affected person abuse is a multi-dimensional phenomenon brought on through personal and professional factors as well as problems related to the inadequate physical environment and organizational structure. To prevent the prevalence of neglect violence, and abuse, it is encouraged to train clinic staff, rearrange the physical environment, reform the organizational structure, and better plan and manage the financial, physical, and human resources.
