Yayın Analysis of basic concepts knowledge and academic development of children from different age groups(Kamla-Raj Enterprises, 2015) Oktay A.; Dogan H.; Ozcan Z.C.As of the 2012-2013 academic year, the starting age for primary school has been changed to 66 months. The purpose of this research is to analyze whether basic concepts knowledge and academic development show any differences in children starting school at different ages. The group analyzed in this research consisted of 254 first-year students. The Bracken Basic Concept Scale and measuring tools for reading speed, reading comprehension and mathematical problem solving were used. It is observed that children show no significant difference in basic concepts at the beginning of the academic year, that the existing difference is on the concept of numbers, and that aside from the concept of letters there is no meaningful difference evidentat the end of the academic year. Students from the younger age group were able to learn to read. However, differences in the younger age group in reading comprehension and mathematical problem solving were observed. © Kamla-Raj 2015.Yayın İterative receiver for DS-CDMA systems in the presence of time-varying channels [Zamanla degişen kanallar varliginda DS-CDMA sistemler için iteratif alici](2008) Dogan H.; Panayirci E.; Çirpan H.A.; Çam G.In this paper, we present an efficient iterative receiver structure of tractable complexity for joint multiuser detection and multichannel estimation (JDE) ofdirect-sequence code-division multiple-access systems operating in the presence of timevarying flat fading channel. The tilne-varying channel is assumed to be modeled according to a piece-wise constant channel. An optimality criterion is defined and analytical expressions for the corresponding optimized weight coefficients are given. Monte-Carlo simulations of a synchronous scenario show that the proposed JDE receiver have excellent multiuser efficiency and are robust against errors in the estimation of the channel parameters. ©2008 IEEE.
