In this study, compression of medical images is fulfilled with HEVC intra prediction method. The compressed images for storage or transmission purposes should not lose their required characteristics for the diagnosis after the recovery process. The recovered compressed images are evaluated by using the objective criteria of PSNR values. In this study, the image compression performance using intra prediction is examined. Especially, the coding of transformation of prediction errors are handled and three different coding structure is proposed. The compression code efficiency is obtained for different block sizes and image sizes by depending on the transform coding formats. The original images are recovered by decoding codes of the compressed images, and the similarity with the original images is inspected by consideirng the PSNR values. © 2018 IEEE.Yayın Power system transformerboard degradation detection using probabilistic neural network(Asian Research Publishing Network (ARPN), 2012) Cekli S.; Uzunoglu C.P.; Ugur M.The insulation condition monitoring of a power transformer has an important role for insulating materials which are subjected to extensive breakdown stress. In this study, a test setup has been constructed in order to simulate real world breakdown characteristics of transformerboards which are widely used as the insulating material. During the service life transformerboards may display undesired surface discharge damage due to increased rated voltages, which reduces the lifetime of transformerboards. The probabilistic neural network is used to detect the surface degradation of a transformerboard by analyzing electrical and ultrasound discharge data obtained from the test setup. The principle component analysis is employed to eliminate the messy matrix and vector calculations of the probabilistic neural network operations. Results of the classification procedure are given. © 2005 - 2012 JATIT & LLS.
