Yayın Bayesian-based iterative blind joint data detection, code delay and channel estimation for DS-CDMA systems in multipath environments(2011) Aydin E.; Cirpan H.A.This work proposes a novel iterative blind receiver to jointly estimate channel parameters and transmitted data sequence on the multipath fading channel in Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access (DS CDMA) systems. Since time delay of the transmission channel represents nonlinear characteristic, joint estimation of these parameters and data sequence is difficult for multipath fading channels. To derive of the proposed iterative method we used completely Bayesian approach and then, Sequential Monte Carlo (SMC) technique is adapted to proposed method. © 2011 IEEE.Yayın SMC-based iterative joint MUD data detection, code delay and multipath estimation in DS-CDMA systems(2011) Aydin E.; Çirpan H.A.In this work, based on a sequential Monte Carlo Method (particle filtering) a new Bayesian based iterative receiver is presented for jointly estimation of channel parameters and multiuser detection (MUD) of transmitted data sequence over the multipath fading channel in Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access (DS CDMA) systems. The parameter estimation of the transmission channel together with transmitted data sequence is difficult in the multipath environment since time delay of the transmission channel represents nonlinear characteristic. Therefore, we used completely Bayesian approach to overcome nonlinear characteristic of the channel with respect to time delay. © 2011 Chamber of Turkish Electric.Yayın SNR-based antenna selection schemes for cooperative relay networks in wireless channels(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2014) Aydin E.; Ilhan H.; Özdemir O.In this paper, two different antenna selection models based on signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) have been proposed in order to reduce the end-to-end bit error rate (BER) of decode and forward (DF) relaying cooperative system where source and destination terminals contain single antenna while relay terminal has multiple antennas. Specifically, by using instantaneous and average SNR of source-to-destination, source-to-relay and relay-to-destination links, optimal decision rules are derived theoretically for antenna selection at the relay terminal. Later, BER expressions of considered system have been derived for two antenna selection models over Rayleigh fading channels. Theoretical and simulation results show the validity of proposed mathematical analysis and point out the confirmation of theoretical results. © 2014 IEEE.Yayın SNR-based antenna selection with threshold value in wireless channels [Telsiz kanallarda esik degerlikli SNR-tabanli anten seçimi](2013) Aydin E.; Ilhan H.; Özdemir O.In this study, in order to reduce the end-to-end bit error rate (BER) at the destination, two different antenna selection models based on signal to noise ratio (SNR) have been proposed. Relay node contains multiple antennas and BPSK modulation is used. In these models under consideration, different optimal decision rule is determined theoretically. To generate each threshold decision rule, either instantaneous and average SNR or both together in S›D, S›R and R›D links are used. Proposed antenna selection algorithm with the optimal threshold value can reduce significantly the end-to-end BER according to the simple relaying technique. © 2013 IEEE.Yayın SNR-based relay selection scheme for cooperative relay networks(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2015) Aydin E.; Illian H.In this paper, a cooperative relaying scheme where optimum threshold value based relay selection algorithm is considered for decode and forward (DF) based cooperative relaying networks is proposed over the Nakagami-m fading channels. Relay selection scheme with optimum threshold value is an effective method to decrease the error propagations that occur at the relays due to detection errors. In order to decrease performance degradation due to error propagations in DF based cooperative relaying networks and increase the error performance of the system, virtual noise (VN), MRC and cooperative-MRC (C-MRC) based detection techniques with the optimal threshold value based relay selection are considered. Functions of optimum threshold value for the considered techniques are derived theoretically. © 2015 IEEE.
