Yayın Electrical properties and impedance spectroscopy of modified potassium sodium niobate ceramics(2012) Alkoy E.M.; Yavuz A.B.; Avdan D.; Alkoy S.Lead-free potassium sodium niobate (KNN) ceramics were prepared with lithium modification. Copper oxide was also added as sintering aid. Impedance spectroscopy was used as a tool to analyze electrical behavior of ceramics as a function of frequency from 100 Hz to 10 MHz at various temperatures. © 2012 IEEE.Yayın Fabrication of piezoelectric ceramic hollow fibers with low sintering temperature and their characterization(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2014) Mensur-Alkoy E.; Kaya M.Y.; Avdan D.; Unver M.U.; Alkoy S.The main aim of this study is to fabricate hollow fibers using alginate gelation method and to characterize the electromechanical performance of these fibers with microtubular structure for the device applications that are based on hollow piezoceramic fibers working in d31 mode. However, fabrication of hollow fibers is difficult and problematic. This study originally presents a holistic solution to these problems and it is different from the currently used or investigated methods in terms of method, design, composition and application. The novel points of the study are: fabrication of the hollow fibers by alginate gelation methods, investigation and use of solid solutions of lead zirconate titanate (PZT) with lead zinc niobate (PZN) with low sintering temperatures, preparation of Ag based electrodes during the processing of piezoceramic fibers and using the co-firing process due to the difficulty of obtaining the inner electrode layer. © 2014 IEEE.Yayın Fabrication of random and textured lead-free (K,Na)NbO3 in ribbon form(IEEE Computer Society, 2013) Alkoy S.; Berksoy-Yavuz A.; Mensur-Alkoy E.In this study, random and textured potassium sodium niobate (K,Na)NbO 3 ceramics were fabricated in ribbon form through a combination of alginate gelation process and template grain growth methods. Development of crystallographic texture as a result of varying sintering time and temperature was evaluated through rocking curve analysis and a texture with Lotgering factor of 0.86 was achieved. The electrical properties of textured ribbons were evaluated with polarization and strain vs. electric field measurements. © 2013 IEEE.Yayın Synthesis of needle-like NaNbO3 particles by hydrothermal process(IEEE Computer Society, 2013) Mensur-Alkoy E.; Ozeren Y.; Alkoy S.In this study, sodium niobate powders were prepared by hydrothermal process for further use as template particles in the texturing of piezoelectric potassium sodium niobate fibers. At the end of the study, three different structures were obtained: Sodium hexaniobate particles with rod-like morphology at 120°C, particles with partially needle- like morphology at 130°C-140°C and SOMS particles with totally needle-like morphology at 150°C. Finally, sodium niobate particles with cubic morphology were obtained at 160°C and above. Rod-like and needle-like morphology was retained even after annealing at 400°C. SOMS particles were sintered at 1135°C for 1 hour and transmission electron microscopy study was carried out to investigate their morphological and structural changes explain after annealing. © 2013 IEEE.
