Yayın EM-based recursive tracking algorithm for near-field moving sources(2007) Çekli S.; Çekli E.; Kabaoglu N.; Çirpan H.A.In this paper, we address the problem of joint tracking of the direction of arrival (DOA) and range parameters of moving sources in the near-field of an antenna array with the Expectation-Maximization (EM) based recursive algorithm. The main characteristic of the proposed recursive EM approach is to include computation of the gradient of the log-likelihood and some form of the complete-data Fisher information matrix. The proposed recursive algorithm in this work assumes that the parameters of interest are described by a linear polynomial model. The tilne-varying channel is assumed to be modeled according to a piece-wise constant channel. An optimality criterion is defined and analytical expressions for the corresponding optimized weight coefficients are given. Monte-Carlo simulations of a synchronous scenario show that the proposed JDE receiver have excellent multiuser efficiency and are robust against errors in the estimation of the channel parameters. ©2008 IEEE.Yayın SMC-based iterative joint MUD data detection, code delay and multipath estimation in DS-CDMA systems(2011) Aydin E.; Çirpan H.A.In this work, based on a sequential Monte Carlo Method (particle filtering) a new Bayesian based iterative receiver is presented for jointly estimation of channel parameters and multiuser detection (MUD) of transmitted data sequence over the multipath fading channel in Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access (DS CDMA) systems. The parameter estimation of the transmission channel together with transmitted data sequence is difficult in the multipath environment since time delay of the transmission channel represents nonlinear characteristic. Therefore, we used completely Bayesian approach to overcome nonlinear characteristic of the channel with respect to time delay. © 2011 Chamber of Turkish Electric.
